Victories All The Way All games on this database are collected from Xiangqi manuscripts of the Ming dynasty (China). Mr. C.K. Lai (from England) has done that work and publish them in his excellent book "Victories All The Way", the book was first ever to let people outside China know of the existence of those games. Many thanks to Mr. Lai to allow me to republish those games in form of freeware and to use the same name for this database.

The Secret Inside the Orange All games in this database are from the book “The Secret Inside the Orange” by Jinzhen Zhu, published in 1632 with the legend: "There was once an orange field in which an enormous orange was grown. When the orange was peeled, it was found that inside two old men were sitting facing each other, playing chess"
